Dr. Lana Long

City Dermatology and Laser was founded by Dr. Long in 2010 to provide the busy professional with the highest quality skin care. She has lived in the area for over 15 years, and practiced dermatology in Northern Kentucky for 15 years.

Dr Lana LongDr. Long received her medical degree (M.D.) from the University of Missouri and completed both Internal Medicine and Dermatology residencies at Vanderbilt University. She is board certified in Dermatology. She is a member of the AMA, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Ohio Dermatological Association, Ohio Society for Dermatologic Surgery,and the Cincinnati Dermatological Society. She served as the secretary/treasurer of the Cincinnati Dermatological Society from 2008-2010, and President 2011-2012.

Dr. Long has a special interest in laser treatments and other minimally invasive in office cosmetic procedures. She values patient safety and provides patients with scientifically proven treatments to keep them looking their best. Dr. Long performs the treatments her

self, and does not employ nurse practitioners or physicians assistants in her office. The goal for her cosmetic patients is to restore their skin back to its natural best and maintain it with sun protection and topical agents. In office procedures, such as lasers, chemical peels, Botox and filling agents help to soften the signs of aging with little down time. People who have had these procedures often notice that they look healthy and rested, not like they have, "something done".

Dr. Long is married to Dr. Brett Coldiron, another dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. They have two children who keep them quite busy in their off hours.

 

Jennifer A. Cafardi, MD, FAAD

Dr. Jennifer CafardiDr. Jennifer Cafardi is a board certified dermatologist who is originally from the Erie, Pennsylvania area. After graduating as valedictorian from Corry Area High School in 1996, she attended Grove City College in Pennsylvania where she majored in Molecular Biology and graduated with honors. She subsequently received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Upon medical school graduation, Dr. Cafardi completed her Medicine Internship at Brown University in Rhode Island. She then went on to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she completed a research fellowship in dermatology. There she conducted research studies on dermatologic therapeutics and diseases including psoriasis, onychomycosis, tinea capitis, and COX-2 inhibitors for the prevention of skin cancer. She then completed dermatology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009. During her residency, she was awarded the Womens' Dermatologic Society Mentorship award, allowing her to work with Dr. Toby Maurer at the University of California at San Francisco.

Upon completing her residency, Dr. Cafardi stayed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the Department of Dermatology as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology from 2009-2011. She taught general medical, pediatric and surgical dermatology to medical students, residents and fellows.

Dr. Cafardi joined The Skin Cancer Center in 2011. She studied Mohs micrographic surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Brett Coldiron from 2011-2012. Her clinical interests include skin cancers and skin diseases in the immunocompromised.

Dr. Cafardi has authored a book (The Manual of Dermatology – Springer-Verlag) and has written a book chapter on phototherapy. She has numerous publications and has been invited to speak on the state and national level including the Alabama Dermatologic Society and the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Cafardi is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She is a member of the Women's Dermatologic Society and the Cincinnati Dermatologic Society. Dr. Cafardi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology

Dr. Cafardi and her husband, John (a physician and infectious disease specialist), moved to Cincinnati in 2011. In her free time, Dr. Cafardi enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants, travelling, running, crocheting and enjoying the outdoors. She enjoys participating in medical missions and has spent time in Brazil and Papua New Guinea.

Susan Bushelman M.D.

Susan Bushelman M.D.Dr. Bushelman completed her undergraduate study at Northern Kentucky University and received her M.D. degree from University of Kentucky College of Medicine where she also completed an additional three-year residency in Dermatology at the University of New Mexico.

Dr. Bushelman is certified in Dermatology by the American Boards of Dermatology. President of the Northern Kentucky Medical Society 2010-2011, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, ASDS, and Cincinnati Dermatological Society. Her interests include general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Bushelman sees cosmetic patients at City Dermatology and Laser on Wednesdays. She is at Dermatology Associates of Northern Kentucky the remainder of the week.
